I'm a guy (5'9" and weigh 175.) Pretty average. The medium size is not very roomy. Fine with a t-shirt under it, but nothing thicker. This is OK for a cool day, but not a cold day. I mainly wear it indoors on a cold winter day in Tahoe. It would work well under a parka shell, but by itself, it's just OK.
