The ALPINE TRAIL 40 was developed for multi-day mountain hiking.It has a classic single chamber design and a large pouch in elasticated mesh on the front for items of kit that might be needed in a hurry (e.g. a weatherproof jacket).

The slimline packs in our ALPINE TRAIL series are made for alpine hiking.They are constructed from robust, lightweight materials and incorporate our lightweight, full contact, well ventilated ACS TIGHT carry system.Technical details include large elasticated pouches, preparation for a hydration system, rapid access waist belt pockets, rain covers and trekking pole and ice axe attachment options.

Our ACS TIGHT full-contact carry system fits close to the body yet delivers amazing freedom of movement and excellent ventilation.A central ventilation channel and padded, breathable shoulder straps and waist belt ensure a high level of climatized carry comfort.

This bag rates 5 stars for style. Very slim profile, great side mesh pockets for glasses or water, roomy inside. The adjustable shoulder strap design eliminates floppy ends. The base at the back is adequately padded. The bag is well made. The bag across the back seems a bit big for an average person. (130 lbs) The straps gap at the sides. Maybe it was for a larger sized woman. The color, described by the manufacturer is Green Lake. The color shown on the website is definitely a teal blue. In reality the bag is close to emerald green. I looked at other sites to compare colors and all were the same teal color. A near miss for me in too many areas.
